The Dial

What’s new this year is the dial, well its colour to be precise. The whole design is, just like the case, intended to be as close as possible to the spirit of early models, with the sleek style of the 2447. This means a dial without tachymeter, without date, without modern applied logo… The essential only. The sober tricompax dial only displays the time and the chronograph, and all the elements are made to make its use simple and legible. The watch features applied baton indexes and hands with a rhodium-plated and polished surface, and the simple “Heuer-only” logo and “Carrera” name are found at 12 o’clock.

For this 2021 TAG Heuer Carrera Green Special Edition replica, the brand has selected a surprising colour, named teal, with a blue-green hue. Fresh and creative, yet relatively subtle in most conditions, it is paired with a sunray-brushed pattern that makes the colour more vibrant in sunlight. The sub-dials are snailed to detach from the rest of the dial. The watch is worn on a classic (too classic maybe) black alligator strap closed by a steel folding clasp with safety buttons.

The Movement

Under a sapphire caseback is the brand’s classic in-house Heuer 02 movement. A modern integrated architecture, it features a column wheel and a vertical clutch. This movement, which powers most of the brand’s higher-end chronographs, is built to be robust and offers an extended power reserve of 80 hours. Through the caseback, it shows a blackened oscillating weight as well as teal-coloured touches on the inscriptions and the column wheel.
